Bifurc is a local-first desktop application designed to help developers manage and simplify their local development workflows.

Your privacy is important. Bifurc does not collect, sell, transmit, or store your personal data on servers operated by us.

Data Collection

Bifurc does not collect personal information or usage analytics.

Bifurc is designed as a local-first application.

Data created or used by the application is stored locally on your device. Depending on the features you use, this may include:

This data is not uploaded to or stored on servers operated by Bifurc.

Network and Proxy Features

Bifurc may process network traffic when you explicitly use its proxy, inspection, or networking features.

This processing occurs locally on your device and is necessary to provide the functionality you requested.

Bifurc does not collect or transmit your network traffic to our servers.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have appropriate authorization to inspect, proxy, or monitor any network traffic processed using Bifurc.

HTTPS Certificate Functionality

Bifurc may provide functionality that allows users to create, install, or use certificates for HTTPS traffic inspection.

Certificate-related actions are initiated by the user and are used only to provide the requested local proxy and inspection functionality.

Bifurc does not transmit generated certificates or private keys to our servers.

Git Functionality

When you use Bifurc's Git features, the application may access Git repositories and metadata located on your device.

This may include information such as:

Repository status Branches Commit history Remotes Local Git configuration

Git operations are performed locally using your existing repositories and Git installation.

Bifurc does not upload your repository contents to our servers.

Update Checks

Bifurc may periodically check for application updates.

To determine whether a newer version is available, the application contacts GitHub Releases and compares the available release version with the version currently installed on your device.

This update check does not involve sending your application data, workspace data, repository data, API traffic, or personal information to Bifurc.

Requests made to GitHub are subject to GitHub's own privacy policies and infrastructure.

Third-Party Services

Bifurc may communicate with third-party services only when required by features explicitly used or configured by the user.

For example, the application may contact GitHub to check for available application updates.

Third-party services operate under their own privacy policies.

Data Security

Because Bifurc primarily operates locally, your application data remains under your control on your device.

You are responsible for securing your device and any sensitive information stored within your projects, environments, API requests, or other local configurations.

Data Sharing

Bifurc does not sell, rent, or share your personal data.

We do not operate servers for collecting or storing user data from Bifurc.
